"Cannot parse response" error during safari download

Hi all.

I've all of a sudden started getting this message when downloading raw clips from Google Drive. These clips were shared to me from someone else. I'm using the latest version of iOS and am downloading them straight to an external hard drive.The failure occurs at random points during the download and I haven't been able to figure out a solution. I've tried everything from rebooting my MacBook and Wifi router, clearing my cache and changing different settings in my preferences.

Didn't start having this issue until just today - before then everything was fine and I was able to download files. Any help? Thanks!
