iMessage/message attachments disappearing on MacBook Pro

Hi all.

On my 2022 MacBook Pro, Ventura 13.2, in messages (what used to be known as iMessages) if I text or someone texts me an attachment, it shows up at first and then goes away after 12 hours or so, or if I close out of the message app. The attachment then shows up as a white paper with the corner folded over and i can't open them on the computer.

They are still on my iPhone and I can open them there too. Also I have an older MacBook and they show up on that too with no problem.

I have been working with Apple for weeks now, with them pulling off date from my computer for the engineers to look at. Still no fix.

Kind of a bummer as my first new laptop in a while and it doesn't work 100%. Maybe Im asking too much.

Does anyone else have this issues?

Any fixes?

Cheers

Hello memaine,

If you're not able to view attachments in Messages on your Mac, you'll want to start by making sure it's updated to the latest software version, which is macOS Ventura 13.2.1. Learn more about updating here: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support
