(13 Feb 2023) Safari update for Mac OS Monterey......

I added today's (13 Feb 2023) Safari update for Mac OS Monterey. It now shows Safari Version 16.3 NOT 16.3.1. How can I tell if I have the latest updated version of Safari ?

Is there a new build number?

There was confusion caused by misinformation on the webpage About the security content of Safari 16.3 - Apple Support which previously referred to the latest version being 16.3.1 when in fact it is 16.3. The webpage was changed the next day to correct version 16.3 and added the build numbers. Unfortunately the build numbers they added are incorrect. It currently says they are "167614.4.6.11.6 on macOS Big Sur and 177614.4.6.11.6 on macOS Monterey"

The correct build numbers are 16614.4.6.11.6 on macOS Big Sur and 17614.4.6.11.6 on macOS Monterey.

I previously wrote about it here:

Shouldn't the Feb 13, 2023 Safari for Big Sur and Monterey be version 16.3 not 16.3.1?

Hi there TahoeSkier,

We're happy to provide some guidance. Safari 16.3 is the most updated version of Safari available for macOS Monterey. Have a look at the related article linked in blue at the top left corner of this page for more information. If your Mac is fully updated to macOS Monterey 12.6.3, then Safari is fully updated for that version of macOS.

The most up-to-date version of Safari is included with the latest version of macOS.
