Since the iPhone 16.3 up date battery life is terrible

Since the iPhone 16.3 up date battery life is terrible, 16.2 was measurably better. Is this going to be addressed with an update or should I back install 16.2?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Hey JEBuckland,

We'd be happy to help out. If you're experiencing less than expected battery life, we'd suggest getting started by getting fully updated to iOS 16.3.1 and test further. It might take some time for your iPhone to adjust to the new software as well, so be sure to test things out over an extended period of time before determining if the issue is still present or not.

Also, you can check your battery usage to determine what's consuming it. If you go to Settings > Battery you'll see a breakdown of your usage so you can see what apps are contributing to battery consumption. If the battery level is dropping more rapidly during periods of further activity, and only slowly decreasing during periods of inactivity, it's likely operating as expected and you might need to change some of your usage and behavior to improve battery life. For more info, check out: About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you're noticing spikes in battery consumption even when your usage is very low, this could indicate an issue with the battery and we'd want to check your battery health to determine whether your battery is in need of replacement or not. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging to check your battery health further. There you'll be able to see if your battery is delivering peak performance and also see its max capacity. If your max capacity is over 80% and delivering peak performance, you don't need to replace your battery. The closer your max capacity is to 80% though, the less runtime you'll have. So be sure to temper expectations with that in mind if your max capacity is much lower than it used to be.

If you determine that you're unable to deliver peak performance or your max capacity is lower than 80%, please contact Apple to explore the service options in your area using this link: Get Support

We hope this helps out.

Take care!
