Cannot copy files from my Iphone to my PC

Hi,

A few months ago I got my very first Iphone, and I was really looking forward to it. However, there is this issue, which annoys me a lot. I have problems with copying files from my Iphone to my windows PC. Every time it is like a lottery - it might work in some cases, but usually it says "A device attached to the system is not functioning". In this case it is very strange - Itunes does see my Iphone, I can see different files and folders in DCIM folder, but I cannot copy anything. Also I cannot say "safely remove hardware" in Windows - it simply cannot see my Iphone.

But then when I turn off my computer while Iphone is still connected, then Iphone suddenly asks me if I want to allow this computer to access the files.

I can restart the Iphone and the Windows computer, and then it might work, but it might not. If it works, it can let me copy some files from the Iphone, but then suddenly it would block the access again.

I have tried different workarounds:

• via dropbox app (I have a subscription): it says "preparing" for a long time, but then nothing happens.
• I bought Icloud subscription, but even here the IPhone can be extremely slow to upload. Suppose that I have 2 large videos, say 10 GB in total. I connect the iphone to the power, I have fast wifi, and still it can say "Syncing" for a day or so without any progress when looking at the blue line.

So, can someone please explain me what is the problem here? I have tried with several PC - there is the same issue.
