Broken Key Macbook Air 2020 Model A2337

My Macbook Air 2020 Model A2337 had a key that worked sporadically.

I did the upside down compressed air - no help. I popped the key off using a YouTube video (I have taken keys off other Macbooks with success). The was fine dog hair wedged in the clear plastic keyboard assembly. When I removed the key, nothing broke. It has the white scissor hinge that Apple used for only the A2337, then went to a modified hinge the next year.

I have tried to install the key back, not success. I examined the scissor hinge with and the base clear keyboard assembly microscope - everything is in place. I can not find any missing tabs or broke clips, attachment points.

The white hinge seems to just sit "floating" around the plunger button on the keyboard assembly. I can get it to stay seated, the black key with the printing does latch on to the scissor hinge. The problem is the scissor attaching to the bottom clear keyboard assembly.

Anyone have any idea what is going on or what the issue is? Thank you for your help.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.0
