I have been having a ~fun~ quirk since the latest OS update (I'm running Ventura 13.1) where PDFs' text disappears when you open the file (example graphic attached).
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, anyone found a solution?

Does this happen with every PDF you have? Or just one or a few?
PDF is a truly crazy format. It was designed to be printed - and absolutely nothing else. But now it is used for just about anything. It's just a mess.
And to make matters worse, Apple has one of the worst PDF tools available. Apple Preview grows bugs like dandelions grow flowers every spring.
Quick Look is not quite the same as opening the PDF with Apple's Preview. If you do open it in Preview, is the missing text in Quick Look present in Preview? Is it present in the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC where Adobe has the opportunity to keep the PDF compatibility more current than Apple can in Preview?
I have seen dandelions blooming in late Fall in MI so Preview is basically dandelion form follows function.
