Has my stolen iPhone been hacked?

I had my iPhone 12 PRO stolen at the end of December. Through iCloud, I marked my iPhone as lost almost straight away. A month later, I got a notification that my phone had connected to iCloud at a location in Romania (I live in Ireland). Once i had set up a new phone, I tried to erase my iPhone 12 PRO and that is pending. Today I got this text message, which I am assuming is fake, can anyone confirm please?

Many Thanks,

Claire

VERY common scam.

The crooks got your phone number from your SIM (before you deactivated it w/ your carrier)

Now they are spear-phishing you in hopes of getting you to reveal your creds so they can recover and reactivate the phone AND get the “bonus” of controlling your AppleID too.

Delete and reveal nothing.

You’ll probably encounter more in the coming months, so remain vigilant.
