Unable to Search Files on Network Drive

M1 Pro MBP 14

Network Drive connected via SMB

I'm having issues using Spotlight and Finder Search for files on the network drive. Any know if this is an option?

• I tried adding the network drive to the Siri & Spotlight -> Spotlight Privacy for indexing.
• I also tried running the Terminal command mdutil /Volumes/media/ -i on    

Results:

Indexing and searching disabled.
