Does Lock Screen Interrupt Time Machine Backup?

Hi - I recently purchased a new Mac Studio running Ventura OS 13.2. I have since noticed that when the Studio goes into Lock Screen mode, any in-progress Time machine backup is interrupted and needs to be restarted when the machine is unlocked. It appears that the backup can't continue with the Mac screen in lock mode, although any progress made up until that point is retained.

I don't recall this behavior in previous OS versions, but perhaps I didn't notice it because my backups on the new Studio take longer than they did on my older Macs.

Can anyone confirm that this Time Machine behavior on Ventura is correct, and if was the same way in previous OSs?

Many thanks!

Mac Studio, macOS 13.2

It will not stop the backup. Only if you Logged Out of the account would it then not work. So as long as you are still logged in even with screen lock, it would continue to run.
