Updating payment info

Trying to update my iCloud payment info. original credit card was lost and was replaced with a new one.

Now, when I go to update, it will not let me remove my original card because it’s linked to a subscription, but it will not let me add my new card.

Is this because it thinks I’m trying to replace my old card with the same credit card? If so, how do I get around it? Thanks in advance.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

To find out how to remove a payment method, and what to do if you can't remove your last payment method or use no payment method with your Apple ID, read this article --> https://support.apple.com/HT203905

Ongoing subscriptions and Family Sharing organizers must always have a payment method present. To edit the cards used for those you may need to first add the new card and make it the primary payment method before removing the old card (see: If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support ).
