TEXT SCAM - UPS/APPLE "Delivery Fee"

I just got this same message after placing an order with apple. It's very disturbing as suggests either: 1) my Mac, 2) apple.com or 3) UPS is compromised? I called apple support about it and they brushed it off as nothing.

It is nothing. Delete it. Literally millions of such messages are sent every day by folks trying to get your credentials. And, every now and then, they hit people who actually placed orders (coincidence).

Got it on the exact day I was expecting a delivery. I don't order alot from the store. They also had my postal code correct. Have a hard time believing its a chance coincidence. seems like either my Mac, apple or UPS is compromised.

I got the same. It said - UPS Msg. Hi <First Name>, <Lame Name>, Your package is on it's way to <Zip Code>. To accept this delivery, you have to pay your delivery fees of $0.00 prior to April 15, 2023. To do so, Visit:<5digitcode>

Visit the website HaveIBeenPwned.Com and see which of the known breaches might effect you. If any.

Just happened to me too. It’s definitely not a coincidence - I’m expecting an iPad I purchased for work and the message has the correct company name and postal code. This is my first time purchasing something for this employer so the information is absolutely leaked from the transaction somehow.

Just did some googling and realized this has been going on, which is odd and suspicious because my shipment got split between FedEx and UPS.

I got my Fedex package first smooth and well. While I was waiting for the second package, I got the text scam saying it’s from UPS, with my name AND postal code. Then the next day, the delivery person didn’t even ring my buzzer or call for the signature release, and just marked it delivery failed.

Trying not to overthink it, but at this point, the way our info got leaked is problematic.

It's spam. Simply delete it and do not respond to it.

Same for me. Seems like much more than a coincidence that I got the same text on the very day of my expected apple delivery. And this is the first of any text of this kind that I ever received.

Delete it and ignore it. It's just a scam.

That's unlikely. It's simply spam texts. Ignore them. Report them. Just don't follow them and provide information.
