Can’t instal a newly purchased office 2021 for Mac on my new MacBook Pro 14” (Feb 2023).

I am following the directions exactly as is inside the office box that was delivered. It takes you on website and you use your key. When you log into windows it excepts the key but the only option is to hit download the files. There’s no choice to choose Windows or Mac. And it will only download an EXE file which obviously does not work on a Mac. Trying to search the Microsoft website just gives you a run around and keeps taking you to Microsoft office 365. I don’t want to pay a regular monthly fee. I want to pay for the program once and use it. Plus I’ve already purchased it. Why would Apple sell this if it doesn’t work anymore.

how do I find the Mac downloadable files for set up of Microsoft office 2021. ??
