Apple card

An on-line transaction of my Apple card bears the message "Declined - Card Replaced". What's the meaning of "Card Replaced"?

Correspondence with the nonprofit organization that was generating these transactions revealed that they were continuing to charge a card which had become invalid. Their method of handling cards becoming invalid is to ask the donor to initiate a new scheduled donation using a valid card, neglecting to stop charges to the old card.

So "Card Replaced" means that the transaction was an attempt to charge a card that was no longer valid. It's true that the invalid card had been replaced, but that's not the essential information about the transaction. What it should say is "Declined - Card No Longer Valid".

The problem with "Card Replaced" is that it's not only beside the point but ambiguous—where was it replaced? In Apple's records? In the charging organization's records (as often happens)?
