Apple Fitness+ disconnecting from AirPlay

I’ve seen a lot of posts about this issue over the last year, but I haven’t seen any resolution shared and am very frustrated. Also, did I miss a support topic for Fitness+ or AirPlay? I did not see either. Even more frustrating.


I have been using my iPhone 12 Pro Max to do Fitness+ workouts via AirPlay on my FireTV for months without issue. Now, every workout I try to play stops at 0:09 and AirPlay disconnects.


  • It is isolated to Fitness+ only; other apps using AirPlay stream just fine to the FireTV
  • My devices are up-to-date
  • I restarted my devices
  • I also tried on my iPad Pro; same result
  • I checked my network settings just in case (even though AirPlay works fine with all other apps I’ve tried)


I really hope this gets fixed, as I just need to be able to get up, pick my workout, and go. I don’t have the time or energy to deal with this stuff.

Apple Fitness+ requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or later. Available when paired with iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3 or later.


Also,

Fitness+ is available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
