Text messages iOS 16.3

Every time I start to answer a text I can only type so far before all the senders previous and current text will disappear. This a real pain if I need to refer or reread something. It’s so annoying and is making texting a real pain. How do I turn this off? I have tried to find an answer and been unsuccessful after numerous attempts. Please I would really appreciate the help.

iMessage: iphone 14 - Text Box disappears after editing the message Seems like iphone 14 iMessage has more than a couple of bugs. When I edit a sent message (using new edit feature) and then try to remove the keypad, the text box for message also disappears. I have to go back and open the chat again to see it. iPhone keyboard blocking text message attachments I went to a website and tried to send the page to someone via text using the arrow in a box icon on the website. The same thing happens when trying to send directions or a Note. The keyboard appears over the attachment and won’t minimize to send the text message [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Write it on the Notes app and copy and paste it. That's what I do if I need to send long iMessage/SMS.
