How do I remove the (2)? I did it years ago with my phone but don't remember how I did it.

By the way, the appearance of that “(2)” suggests some former devices with similar names are still associated with your Apple ID. Check Settings > [your Apple ID] and check your list of devices toward the bottom. Remove any devices no longer associated with your Apple ID.
