GarageBand Error
GarageBand requires me to update a certain software but doesn’t tell me which software needs updating. Anyone know how to find out which software needs updating?

Hey PeppermintBroccoli,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. What happens when you choose "Show in Finder"? That option should open up a Finder window to show you the software that needs updating. Have you installed any add-ons for GarageBand? Also, do you have any available GarageBand updates in the Mac App Store? Use the App Store to update apps on Mac - Apple Support
Update from the App Store
• Update from the Updates pane: Click Updates in the sidebar, then click Update beside each app that you want to update, or click Update All.
• Update from the Discover, Create, Work, Play, Develop, and Categories areas: Click the Update button next to an app.
Keep us posted.
Take care!
Which version of GarageBand do you have installed? And what have you been doing in GarageBand, when this error occured? I cannot reproduce this error with GarageBand 10.4.7. Do you have any third-party plug-ins installed for GarageBand? Then you may want to check, if there are updates availablefor these plug-ins. Check the websites of the manufacturers of your plug-ins.
The application causing this error message might be an outdated app in one of the frameworks inside the GarageBand package. Then updating GarageBand might help. Or some third-party app you installed has installed an outdated framework.
You might want to restart your Mac in SafeBoot Mode and then test again. This will tell you, if a part of GarageBand itself is problematic or a third-party app installed something problematic. Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
