FCP turning footage black and white

I'm editing using some footage shot by a camera man. The footage is fine when I play it in quicktime however when I import to FCP and into the timeline the footage in the viewer turns black and white (and exports as black and white) and sometimes it is lime green.. The cameraman has edited some of the same footage in premiere pro with no issues, so just wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be? I have attached some screen shots..
