When using the app Duolingo on MacBook Air through Safari the lesson audio is there for the first lesson then disappears on subsequent lessons. No other app has this issue. This happens with or without use of headphones. Rebooting is not practical every time this happens. What are the alternatives?

This happens repeatedly to me also, on iMac with latest update.
To solve it I quit Safari, (x 'Leave page') go to System Settings, x Sound, Click Mute ON, then OFF, reboot Safari, which opens itself back in Duolingo, and the Sound is now ON again.
But this is a huge nuisance, happens on average twice during 1/2 hour lesson.

For years, Duolingo has had audio issues when running under Safari. For unknown reasons, Duolingo's coding is not designed to work with Safari. On most other common browsers it seems to work without problems.
When this happens to me, I find that closing Safari (Command Q) and restarting it fixes the issue.
Thank you for your response. I will try the Command Q. I have tried simply closing Safari and reopening. Unfortunately, this does not work on this issue.
