Can I sync my iPad 3rd Gen with a mouse?

I have an iPad 3rd gen (Model A1416) I would like to use a mouse with it. Anyone know if it can be done and if so, which brand mouse? Any help would be appreciated (even a, "can't be done" will keep me from searching.) Thanks.
