are there problems upgrading to Ventura?

I have a Mac book pro, Monterey, 12.6.2, and want to know if there are problems upgrading to

Ventura, (just received a message that it's available) and if it's worth it? I don't want to

mess up my computer, and have major problems.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Yes, sometimes file corruption can occur during the OS download. This can happen when using Wi-Fi or a network as they are just too slow for these very large downloads. If you use Ethernet, you should be fine. Typically a download can take around 45 minutes or more and another 45 minutes or so to install with several automatic restarts. I would do the upgrade.

The point is that you should expect problems. Millions of people upgrade macOS with no problems. No one hears from them, but that fact is utterly useless to the comparatively few who experience problems.

Anything is possible including an inability to start your Mac, a failed installation, coincidental hardware failures, data loss, etc. But most of those things can happen whether you upgrade or not.
