How do I add past events to my iPhone calendar?

When you open the Calendar app, you’ll see the current month displayed in the upper-left corner. After tapping, it shows you the current year. After tapping the year, simply scroll down on the screen until you at the year you would like to add an event. Select the correct month and date to add it. Use these steps to add your events:

"Add an event

1. In Day view, tap  at the top of the screen.
2. Enter the title of the event.
3. Tap Location or Video Call, then enter a physical location or tap FaceTime to enter a video link for a remote event.
4. You can also copy a FaceTime link you created or received and paste it in the Location field. See Create a link to a FaceTime call on iPhone.
5. Enter the start and end times for the event, the travel time, invitees, attachments, and so on. (Swipe up, if necessary, to enter all the meeting information.)
6. Tap Add."

You would follow the same steps posted in the response above to add an event to a date in the past, and it should work just as if you were adding a new event to a future date.

Keeping that in mind, what happens when you try to add a new event to a past date? Are you seeing any error messages?

What type of calendar is this happening with? For example, are you trying to add an event to your iCloud calendar or a third-party calendar, like Google or Outlook?

Please see my message above. I did the tests on 2 different iPhones here...mine and my wife's. Also tested on a Mac.

The new events in the past were added without me restarting my iPhone or my wife's. I simply suggested that as a possible fix.

What is “icalendar”? There is no calendar that I am aware of with that name. In the Calendar app, tap on Calendars at the bottom. What calendar or calendars do you see there? For example, I see my MS Exchange calendar and iCloud, as well as Subscribed and Other, and each has calendars folders listed under the heading.

Try restarting your iPhone. Check to see if there are any updates for your iPhone as well.

I just ran 3 quick tests and have no trouble at all entering a New Event on any past date that I have chosen....last week, last month or 3 months ago.

Also checked using a Mac and had no trouble entering a new event on a date in the past. The Mac and iPhone sync using iCloud.

Maybe another user can duplicate the issue that you are reporting. I can't.
