Cannot swipe to turn off iPad and cannot close apps

From what you described in your original post, we recommend you try the steps in the link below since you cannot close apps on your iPad.


Restart your iPad


Next, we'd like to show you how to perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above. Please click to open the link, then read through the steps in the section titled "How to restart an iPad with a Home button."


1) Press and hold the top button until the power off slider appears.

2) Drag the slider, then wait for 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3) To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.


We recommend the steps above because while a restart can seem unimportant, it can resolve many minor issues with the device.
