How do I get directions in google map on my iPad and once I do, how do I drag the suggested route to an alternate one. Thank you!

Live directions are only available on iPad WiFi+Cellular models. WiFi Only models of iPad lack the GPS hardware required to provide real-time location information - this being necessarily for live navigation.
