Iphone Unavailable after my kid did multiple attempts of wrong passcode. Not able to download itunes to reset the iphone through my mac. what should i do?

You should be able to do it without using a computer. There is an Apple article that explains what to do if you have forgotten an iPhone or iPad passcode. Click on the following link: If you see an iPhone or iPad unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support
If that option is not available, you will need to use a computer. The iTunes app for Macs was discontinued and replaced by other apps. For resetting an iPhone, use Finder on Macs that don't have iTunes. See: If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
