In my specific case, it was a router software setting issue. I had bought an iPhone in Japan, and in Japan, I had attempted to connect it to my router, which was manually set to region US.

As it turns out, the router’s wifi region matters because each country uses a unique set of channels for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios. Since US and JP have a unique set of channels for 5Ghz, my iPhone could not see and could not connect to my router.

To fix this, I had to manually change my router’s wifi region to the country I was currently in (Japan). Afterward, my iPhone could detect and connect to my router.

My advice would be to confirm that both your iPhone and your router are set to the same wifi region that you are in. I suspect that the iPhone automatically adjusts itself, so most likely, it is the router's settings that need to be updated.

Hope this helps.

Well well, came to a solution in my IPhone 14 Pro 5GHz band (lack of detection)

Spoke to tech support for my router. Apparently my router setting for 5GHz frequency band was using one of the upper channels, in my case 176. once I chose one of the lower channels like 44, My IPhone 14 Pro Detected the 5GHz band and was able connect to it successfully.
