HomePod bug with TuneIn radio stations

Utterly sick of this.

"Hey Siri, play Jazz FM radio" works periodically or not at all, replying with the usual "Jazz FM is not in your Apple Music Library" message.

Finally spoke to Apple support which was absolutely hopeless. They said the problem is with "the TuneIn app" and I need to call them.

However, I pointed out that I do not have the TuneIn 'app', I have never used the word "TuneIn",and it is they, Apple, who decide to call the TuneIn API or whatever to retrieve the stream for that radio station.

They would not have this and said it's something that cannot and will not help with.

So I suggested they remove the functionality as it is (a) broken and (b) THEY are making the connection between the word 'radio' and TuneIn leaving me no way to connect to "XXX radio".

This is a hopeless state of affairs.

Has anyone actually managed to solve this issue, or tried contacting TuneIn? I have now raised a support case with TuneIn but I'm not hopeful...

Further from TuneIN:

"Due to Apple security features and restrictions our specific commands do not work with Home Pods, it will literally play what it wants to play, and we do not have any control over what it chooses to play.

Again, we do apologize for any and all inconvenience this may have caused but we do not have a solution to this issue due to Siri/apple."

Umm, but it said this morning, when it randomly DID work:

"Now playing JazzFM provided by TuneIn"

It's Apple. I have listened to a Jazz station in Los Angles for several years via my HomePod (OG). Sometimes it works (I say play KJAZZ 88.1) sometimes it doesn't. What is more interesting when it does work sometimes it says from TuneIn and other times from iHeart. Being facetious I think it is dependent on either the Northern Lights or what Tim Cook had for breakfast.

FWIW, when it doesn't work, I bring up the station on my iPhone and hand-off the music to my HomePod.
