Safari auto fill credit card defaults to Apple Card

When I try to pay online my safari browser only gives the option to use Apple Card. I have checked my setting and have a few different cards in the auto fill section and have defaulted a card other than Apple Card. When I look at the list of cards in settings I can not edit the Apple Card as it’s separated up top as a wallet card which is non editable unless I go to the Wallet section where I can remove it but no way to do anything else. Any ideas? This is a recent phenomenon probably since the last update. TIA

No it used to give me a choice “auto fill credit card info” now it only shows Apple Card logo and no other auto fill choices, and my Apple card is not my default card.

Hey there rfdong,

It's possible there's an issue with the site where you're trying to enter this information. To help rule that out, test in other websites to see if you can choose other payment options.

If you're unable to select other options from different sites, check the Safari settings next instead of the Wallet. Go to Settings > Safari > AutoFill, then select your credit cards to see which ones are saved there.

G'day rfdong,

Thanks for checking that. For confirmation, you see the cards under Settings > Safari > AutoFill > Saved Credit Cards, but you're unable to select any when you try to make a payment, correct?

You mentioned this may have started around the time of a recent update. Was that the update for iPadOS 16.3 specifically? If you haven't updated to that version yet, we recommend backing up and doing so, as this could help to clear up any general unexpected behaviors. Here's how: Update your iPhone or iPad

Let us know if this helps! Kind regards.

Hi rfdong,

Thank you for those details.

Try clearing your browsing history in Safari to see if that resolves the issue:

1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.
2. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.
