Is it possible to use a 2015 iMac 27" running Monterey with a cable connection (USB-C to Mini DisplayPort, eg this) if my MacBook is running Ventura?
Someone suggested ScreenRecycler but that app dates from 2012. I can't imagine it would work.

Unfortunately, you cannot use Target Display Mode: Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support.
However, Luna Display, a third-party solution, may work.

In a word no, Target Display Mode has been dead since 2014. If you have not had the chance yet, please read Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support
Thanks, I did see that, and saw no alternative. what a waste of a beautiful (potential) display. My iMac cannot upgrade to Ventura and is sluggish. Waiting for the M2 replacement, but in the meantime would have loved to use it.
