MBP-2017 build-in display stopped working after upgrading to Ventura

After fews hours of the update, the MBP-2017 doesn't detect the build-in display; however, it is work normal when I connect with external screen through HDMI.

I tried all possible RESETs. No luck at all.

Seems like something is messed up during the upgrade. Please suggest!

Hi boobalanm,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your built-in display isn't working after installing macOS Ventura.

Are you able to start your Mac in macOS Recovery? This article will guide you: If your Mac starts up to a blank screen - Apple Support

"Try to start up from macOS Recovery

If your Mac seems to be turned on but the screen remains blank, follow the appropriate steps depending on whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon. If you're not sure, you can try it both ways.

Intel processor

  1. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds.
  2. Press and release the power button, then immediately press and hold Command (⌘)-R until you see an Apple logo or other image."

If your display still isn't detected, you can connect your external display and run a diagnostic test on your Mac to check its hardware: Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

We hope this helps.

Take care!
