McAfee Removable Media Protection not working with macOS Ventura

I use a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and a MacBook Pro for my job, and need to transfer files between the two. I was provided a USM memory stick by my IT department, which is encoded with McAfee Removable Media Protection.

This worked fine until I upgraded my Mac from Monterey to Ventura. Since, every time I try to open the McAfee Removable Media Protection from my Mac, I get the following message:

“McAfee Removable Media Protection” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk."

I want to avoid having to downgrade macOS just because of this, but this is causing me issues in my day-to-day work and would very much appreciate some help with this issue.

I have contacted McAfee but they haven't provided any help, so I am hoping someone here will be able to guide me to a solution.

A - This would indicate to me , the Apple Computer is Managed by the IT Departments of the Company

Therefore, they, the IT Department, would be the first Resource to contact regarding this specific issue

They have looked into it but it seems to do with compatibility between McAfee and Ventura and I am experiencing the same issue with my personal MBP (same set-up). I have one of the only Macs in the business due to my job so they are not geared up to help with Macs.

The only solution I have at the moment is to downgrade to Monterey but it’s a drastic solution for just this.

FWIW, it's up to McAfee to ensure their app works in Ventura. Until they do so, downgrading would seem to be your only option.

Thank you all. I posted in case there was something I should do which I didn't know to make it work, but it seems I will need to roll back to Monterey for now or find an alternative to McAfee. Thank you for your help.

You're welcome. Unfortunately most experienced Mac users wouldn't have have anything installed from McAfee so it's not likely.

They may have looked into it ( McAfee ) but forgot what platform it is being used on.
