No longer getting Contacts birthday alerts

How do I restore being notified of birthdays in my Contacts?

It used to work fine.

Contacts is not even listed under Settings/ Notifications where it should be.

I do have Birthdays checked in my Calendar settings (even though that should not matter as birthdays are in my Contacts and not Calendar).

iPad 2, iOS 9

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities KeepImmigrants,

Notifications for Birthdays would come through the Calendar app, based on the information available in the Contacts app.

Tap Settings > Calendar > Default Alert Times > Birthdays, then choose when you want to receive the notification.

Make sure your have Notifications for Calendars enabled. The following page can help with this part: Change notification settings on iPad

We hope this helps!
