Photos shared library no loner syncing

My wife and I share both of our personal photo libraries to have one shared photo library.

This has been working normally for the last few months but as of about 6 days ago it has stopped working entirely.

For example, I have taken photos on my iphone but these do not appear in the shared library on my wife's phone - and vice versa - she takes photos on her phone and they no longer show on the shared library on my phone.

We can still see previous photos from each others libraries and they have the shared library icon on them.

I have checked all the icloud settings and everything looks normal. We have plenty of storage available (1.1 used of 2TB)

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to get this working again.

Hi Leonie, thank-you for your assistance with this.

Are you adding the new photos manually to the shared library or have enabled the option to share new photos automatically, right from the Camera?

Not adding manually. Sharing from camera is set to On.

Could there be a storage problem with downloading the shared photos from iCloud to the iPhone because a lack of local storage?

Have 30Gb of space on my iphone so there should be no issue with my wife's photos downloading.

I have a macbook air and the photos from my wife's library are not appearing there or in icloud (browser), nor are the photos that I have taken appearing in the icloud shared library via browser. The photos that I have taken are appearing on my macbook though.

So maybe there is something not working with the icloud sync?

I would like to add an attachment here as there is a discrepancy in icloud between the total of the personal libraries and the shared library. The two should be the same. But there is no option to attach a screenshot.

How are you adding photos to the Shared Library? Are you adding the new photos manually to the shared library or have enabled the option to share new photos automatically, right from the Camera?

Settings > AppleID > iCloud > Photos > Shared Library > Share from Camera?

If you did not enable this option, you have to select the new photos manually and share them.

I assume, this is referring to the storage iniCloud? But how much free storage is available on your iPhones? Could there be a storage problem with downloading the shared photos from iCloud to the iPhone because a lack of local storage?

If you also have a computer, you may want to check, if the shared photos have been added to your to the shared library in iCloud. Open www.icloud.com in a web browser on a. computer and sign in with your iCloud AppleID, open the Photos.app there, then view the Shared library.
