Some songs I bought in itunes are missing in my library.

I recently discovered that a song I bought some years ago is not in my library any more. It also is not available for buying in itunes any more, at least not with the cover it used to have. Seems to be a new version. So I bought it again.

But yesterday I noticed that another song I bought some years ago is greyed out and a message said that I cannot play this song in my region (I always could). And today it has vanished from my library and the version available for purchase has a different cover than the one mine used to have.

So, did this happen to other customers too?

The first song was "Goodbye Horses" from Q. Lazzarus and the second "Sebe Allah Y'e" from Alpha Blondy. I wonder how long my other purchases will be in my library now and if it isn't better to buy old-fashioned records or CDs instead. And if this will happen to the movies I have bought, too. Reminds me of Amazon deleting purchased books from user accounts when there was a copyright-problem

Hi iheechee,

Try redownloading the music from your Purchase History, as shown here:

Redownload music - Apple Support

Learn how to redownload music that you purchased from the iTunes Store.

Redownload music in the iTunes Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the iTunes Store app.
• On your iPhone or iPod touch: At the bottom of your screen, tap More More button, then tap Purchased.
• On your iPad: Tap Purchased.
2. Tap Music. If you use Family Sharing, tap a family member’s name to see music that they purchased.
3. Find the music that you want to redownload, then tap it.
4. Tap the download button Download button next to a song or album.
Don't see the music that you purchased?

Take care!

Hello,

I am having issues with some purchased music not being in my library any more and also not being in the itunes store any more.

For example, the album "Apartheid is Nazism" from Alpha Blondy used to be in the iTunes store in its original version which I bought. Now there is a remastered version with a different art cover available in the iTunes Store and the original is not there any more. And it is also not in my library any more. Not on the iPad and not on the iPhone. It seems like when they removed the old version from the iTunes Store they also removed it from my library and did not replace it.

Restarting my device does not resolve this problem. I have only one Apple Id and I am only in one region.

Thank you, unfortunately this does not help. Those songs are not in my "purchased" list in iTunes any more, they have been entirely removed. And since the version I bought is not available in the iTunes Store any more, I cannot redownload it from there either. (They offer a "remastered" version of the Alpha Blondy album now).

But I can see those songs in my purchase history in my apple account, so I really know I bought them with the current Apple Id in iTunes Store long time ago (2008).

What confuses me: in my purchase details for this song it says "seller: orchard". So, is the iTunes Store just some kind of online market place where different sellers sell digital content and if they quit, people lose access to their purchases?
