Lost part of Handwritten text in Apple Notes

Hi... was writing a note with the pen and at one point the pen started lagging but I was still able to continue writing. Then I wanted to save/print the note and on the printable view I noticed that one page at the end was missing. I cancelled the print, refreshed the note and tried again but still the last page was missing when trying to save/copy. I took a screenshot of that missing part of the note and closed the note to see if it may refresh it and bring back what was missing. But instead it disappeared completely. So somehow it allowed me to write and see it on the normal note view but it did not actually record it to the notes but instead ended up vanishing.

This lagging has been happening for few weeks now but this was the first time it did not recover or record part of my writing to the actual system and the writing was lost forever. This time I did take a photo but clearly this is not an answer and makes me very cautious to use notes for writing again as what if I can not recall my written notes and so may end up losing my job or whatever else. Please advise!

Hello i photo makes noise,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with missing notes written with a lagging Apple Pancil. Have you tried restarting your iPad? This simple step resolves a multitude of issues: Restart your iPad - Apple Support

"How to restart an iPad without a Home button

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.

  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, does your iPad need updating? Do you have a recent backup for the data in your iPad in iCloud or your computer? If not, we recommend that you create one as described here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Then update your iPadOS as outlined here:  Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
