How to Connect Blu-Ray External Optical Drive to Blu-Ray Player Software

I have a new Mths Tec External Optical Drive and 2 different brands of Blu-Ray player software: MacGO Blu-Ray Player Pro and DVDFab Player 6. My iMac is Retina 5K 2020 with MacOS Ventura 13.1.

I tested the Mths Tec drive, with a Blu-Ray disc, on my old 2010 iMac, which has an earlier version of MacGO Blu-Ray Player Pro. On the old 2010 the Mths Tec drive and the old MacGO Blu-Ray Player Pro connect and do play the Blu-Ray disc I inserted.

But so far the Mths Tec drive does not connect with the 2020 iMac or either the newer MacGO Blu-Ray Player Pro or the DVDFab Player 6.

What should I do to achieve connection between the Mths Tec drive and one or the other -- or both -- of the software apps?

iMac, macOS 10.12

Mths Tec appears to be a Chinese company (either mainland or Taiwan, I'm not sure) which does not appear to have a website. I'll keep looking, but I turned to the Mac community because I was not connecting with the Mths Tec company. This drive does claim to be MacOS compatible. As I mentioned, it does work on the OLD 2010 iMac.

How are you plugging the player into the 2020 iMac?

Try plugging the player directly into the iMac using one of the following USB-C to USB adapters.

I have the same problem it work at fine for year after install OSX 13.1 update to 13.2 non of my player geht show up in the finder. I did deferent test .. sorry for my englisch.

ps: i do not use a Beta version!

I had an asus blueray burner SBC-06D2X-U/BLK/G/AS connected to my mac mini 2012 without problems, but never owned a blueray movie so never tested it with such, it had a microUSB but require a cable with 2 usb-a connectors to be powered, these days it's connected to some windows box

I use a Verbatim slim drive 43888 and I buy a new get delivered last night and again the Finder show not up the drive. See my links scroll 2 post up.

i downgrade to Ventura 13.1 and he show up.. I thing it’s a bug in Ventura I’m not the only one see my links.

Could be a Ventura 13.2 issue. I did not upgrade to that level. I usually wait for several weeks until I'm sure there are no issues that surface. If all is OK with 13.1 I would stay at that level for now.

As you likely know, Apple does not support Blue-Ray. I would recommend contacting the support staff for your Mths Tec drive to see if they offer support for Mac OS.
