Airdrop from iPhone

When I send a photo from my iPhone to my Mac via Airdrop, it appears with HEIC at the end instead of JPG or one of the other designations. Often, I can't get them to attach to emails, and when I can, they are unseeable at the other end.

How can I change it to JPG or another?

iPhone 6s, iOS 14

Open Finder, locate the HEIC file, right-click on it, choose Quick Actions, then Convert Image and follow the prompts to convert to jpg.
