Update Apple ID Settings

I can’t update my ID settings. When I enter my Apple ID Password, I get the following message.

verification failed. There was an error connecting to the Apple server

Also, when I try to confirm my iPhone passcode, I’m asked for my Apple ID passcode. When I enter it I then get the same message

Apple ID Locked I have the apple ipad air 5th generation. I didn’t use it for a month and yesterday when I charged it, a notification popped up saying “Apple ID Verification” enter your apple id password in settings. After I click the settings it says “apple id locked, your apple id has been locked for security reasons, to unlock it you must verify your identity”. And after I enter my password it says “Verification Failed, an unknown error occurred”. I was also prompted to enter my trusted phone number to continue and after I clicked done it said “Verification Failed, there was a problem connecting to the server.” To sum up, I am unable to sign into my apple id and I am unable to change the password. I restarted the ipad, it didn’t work. What should I do?

Verification failed: There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server I've purchased a refurbished Iphone 12 and i'm trying to set it up, but everytime I enter my icloud ID and password, i get this same message. I am connected to Wifi All i get is the spinning sign. Just cant seem to get past this point. Wonder if its just a bad phone, or am i doing something wrong. Ive tried setting it up using my ipad, but that didnt work either, scanning the image.

A "Verification Failed" message is used in various scenarios which could be either a communication issue, or a problem with your account. See if the suggestions in this document help: If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud - Apple Support

Check you have a good internet connection.

Check Apple's servers status Apple - Support - System Status
