Email Account Error - Unable to Load Emails

Hi, hope you’re able to assist.

I use a Yahoo account, which is set-up on the Apple mail app. I constantly have issues with it fetching emails, as I receive the message below (see screen grab). It’s intermittent, as sometimes it fetches the emails and then, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve checked my passwords, gone through the settings and cannot see any reason that it would cause the issue. If I use Yahoo’s own app, I can load my emails with ease and never have an issue. So it must be how the Apple mail app works, in relation to pulling the emails. I only have the one account set up, along with the standard iCloud email account. It’s exceptionally frustrating. Even more so given the Yahoo app doesn’t create and issue. I’d ditch the Apple mail app if I didn’t prefer the interface more than Yahoo’s.


Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We'll be glad to help out. Without further information, if you're experiencing an account error and are unable to connect to Yahoo's server, there could be some incompatibility with their server and the Mail app.


If you've set up the account as outlined in Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and still have issues, you may need to reach out to Apple directly to look into this with you further.
