Default Font for Mail in iOS 16.2

How do I change the default font for mail in ios 16.2? It seems impossible. I cannot believe Apple would make it so difficult. I don't want to change the font in every single email, but I want the font from Apple mail to be the same font I use from my desktop. Apple also seems to use font sizes that are 11.5 instead of the more common 10 or 12. It also appears impossible to change this default setting as well, and even changing in an individual email doesn't work great (<a and a> only decrease or increase by a full point, so you can't get to 10 or 12 point font). Surely Apple can make the optionality better here.

Please re-read my question. I specifically said I know how to change the font in a specific email. I need to change the default font for all emails. You did not answer that question.

Hi John98754321,

There is not a way to change the default font for composing emails in the native iOS Mail app. You could explore other apps that may offer this functionality in the App Store. Additionally, you can leave feedback to let Apple know you'd like this feature to be available in a future iOS update using the feedback link that we provided previously.

Cheers!

Hello John98754321,

You may adjust the iOS email font when composing an email by using the following steps:

  1. Begin composing the new email
  2. Tap the '<' icon above the keyboard
  3. Select the 'Aa' button
  4. Choose the font here, which may say 'Default Font'
  5. Select the new font

If you find there is something you'd like to see changed or added, you may always opt to leave feedback for Apple on their dedicated feedback page here: Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers.
