Mac system data 74.8GB-How can I get rid of that?

I have the new MacBook Air M2 and am running Ventura 13.2

Even before this afternoon my Mac system data that been hovering around 74GB.

This is far too much. How can I go about reducing that number because it it about 75% of the storage taking up space on this laptop?

Thank you,

MacBook Air, macOS 13.2

Me too. I just bought a mini Mac M2 24GB memory 256 GB storage and my iCloud was at 1.39TB free of a 2TB cloud capacity and my storage was rammed. I have taken pretty much everything out of the cloud and downloaded it to a EHD and have turned off my iCloud storage. As soon as I did this my System data went through the roof. My bin is empty yet I have 175.11GB of storage taken. I can't do any of the tasks that I want to using Lightroom or photoshop, which I why I bought this Mini Mac. I can't even watch a you tube video clip. It's pixelated and will not play. So far this has been the worst purchase I have ever made as ALL I have done is try to rouble shoot it not being fit for purpose since I got it out of the box. I'm better off going back to my 12 year old Mac 27" that is well past its best. I have done all the housekeeping that I can but I shouldn't have to with a Mac that is 1 month old .

I have tried the terminal fixes suggested on another string and unless there is a typo in the string my machine does not recognise the commands.

Come on Apple!
