What might “red SOS bar” mean exactly?

I picture a red bar that is the entire width of the iPhone screen across the top. But I don’t believe that’s ever created by any Apple process.

Might you mean some method of turning on SOS?

Do you mean the bar shown here?

Oh gosh, wouldn’t you know, it’s something no one has ever seen. It’s a narrow red bar across the entire width of the screen, at the very top. It’s on my friend’s iPhone. If her other friends can’t help her, I’ll have her send me a screenshot. Thank you for trying to help!
