Hi Easily_irritated,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with apps downloading to your device unexpectedly. We'd like to help.

Let's start off with some questions to try to isolate this issue. That will help us determine what is going on with your apps.

Is this a new iPhone you're using? Did you recently set it up or restore it and use your backup to put your data back on your device? Are you a member of Family Sharing with purchasing sharing enabled? If you go to your past purchases, do you see those listed apps there? This resource can help you locate those apps: View your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and other Apple media services - Apple Support

How to see your purchase history
1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
3. A list of your recent purchases appears. If you’re not sure what you were charged for but you know the amount of the charge, search for the amount. If you're looking for information about older purchases, find your purchase history in Settings or Account Settings on your device.

Learn what to do if you can't find the item that you’re looking for or if you find unexpected charges.

If you purchased a subscription that you no longer want, you can cancel the subscription.

Let us know if you are able to find them and we'll go from there.

Cheers!

Hi Easily_irritated,

Many of the apps you've mentioned are included in the iOS software. These include Find My Friends, Find My iPhone, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, Pages, GarageBand, and iTunes U. You can delete these if you don't intend to use them. Here's how:

1. Touch and hold the app.
2. Tap Remove App Remove App icon.
An iPhone screen showing the menu that appears when you touch and hold an app. Remove App is the third option in the menu.

3. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.

Keep in mind that some built-in Apple apps can't be deleted from your device, so you might not see the option to delete an app. Here’s a list of built-in Apple apps you can delete from your device. If you can't delete an app that's not made by Apple, disable parental controls, then try deleting the app again.

This information is from Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

You can also delete Netflix, Messenger, and WhatsApp as well. To turn off automatic app downloads, go to Settings > App Store and turn this off.

Take care.
