Noise app in loud environments, while wearing hearing protection

Hi,

Being conscious of the hearing safety, I rely on Noise app to stay within the safe volume/exposure levels.

problem is I regularly have to be in a loud environment, of cores I’m wearing adequate hearing protection - but the Apple Watch does not know that, thus my exposure statistics are wrong.

have anyone found a strategy to deal with this issue?

I saw there is an option to “mute loud environment notification” for “hour, day, …”, but I could not confirm whether it also stops monitoring the ambient noise levels or not.
