I can't get rid of this annoying notification "Update Apple ID settings". I follow the sequence of commands to try to get rid of it, but it seems stuck in an endless loop.
I attach an image showing the sequence I followed to try to fix this issue, and how it got me nowhere.
Your help will be appreciated.

Have you used a different Apple ID with this Mac in the past? It might be asking for your other Apple ID.
Try a normal restart of the Mac and then try again to see if the same thing happens.

Apple support solved the problem. I had to sign up for iCloud, which I had not yet done.
I recently purchased an app at the Apple store using my Apple ID. I had no problem doing so.
Then, following your suggestion, I tried using old ID and passwords but that did not work.
I will next contact Apple Support.
