No video scrolling in QuickTime Player, while playing, after upgrading to MacOS Ventura 13.1

I used to be able to do the following on my MacBook Pro 2019:

While playing a video in QuickTime player, placing 2 fingers on the touchpad, and scroll the video back and forth. Raising the fingers would resume playing.

Since the upgrade to MacOS Ventura 13.1, I first need to pause the video, and only then, the scrolling works as expected.

If I don't pause the video, attempting to scroll just pauses the video...

Hello Denisius,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

If you press on the forward or reverse buttons on your touch pad control strip, does the video scroll?

"Control Strip

The Control Strip, located at the right end of the Touch Bar, lets you use Siri or easily adjust common settings—just tap the buttons or, for settings like brightness and volume, quickly swipe left or right on the buttons. You can also expand the Control Strip to access more buttons.

The collapsed Control Strip includes buttons—from left to right—to expand the Control Strip, increase or decrease display brightness and volume, mute or unmute, and use Siri.

  • Expand the Control Strip: Tap the Expand button.Depending on your Mac model and how you customize the Touch Bar, you can also press and hold the Fn key or the Globe key  on the keyboard to expand the Control Strip.
  • Use Control Strip buttons: Tap the buttons to adjust settings or control video or music playback. For some settings—such as display brightness—you can touch and hold the button to change the setting.

Buttons in the expanded Control Strip include—from left to right—display brightness, Mission Control, Launchpad, keyboard brightness, video or music playback, and volume.

  • Collapse the Control Strip: Tap the Close button."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Does this happen with any other apps?

Also, does the issue persist regardless of which video is playing?

Cheers!
