Displays of my MacBook Pro stopped working/black screen

The display of my MacBook Pro stopped working. I did some Googling and found that black screens can sometimes occur. I did go through most of the tips for that phenomenon without success (sort of reinstalling everything).

I can still use external monitors so it’s not the graphics card. It didn’t make a hard bump and physically it’s in perfect order. It just stopped working overnight.

unfortunately I cannot use restore startup with an external monitor because it configures the zero as extended desktop, soo I never see the menu (it’s on the internal display), which means I cannot run repair permissions.

i tried repair permissions via terminal but it’s no longer supported as terminal tells me the option is invalid.

i also tried the pram and nvram options without success.

Before I splash out on repairs that might not be needed, I wanted to know if there is a fix I can do myself.

Hello sporry,

Is it starting up to a blank screen or is the display completely turned off? If you're seeing a blank screen, try to boot into recovery with these steps: If your Mac starts up to a blank screen - Apple Support

If the issue persists beyond that, having your Mac inspected by a technician is the next best step. This link will help you get started: Mac Repair & Service - Apple Support

Take care.
