Safari tabs are stuck into the air at move

Hello,

besides the bug mentioned here (Moving tabs in Safari bug - Apple Community), I noticed after last update that some tabs are stuck in the air after moving from one safari window to another.

The tab is visible on top of any app and click is not going through, basically any button behind the floating tab is not clickable.

Very frustrating, happened two times already this week, only restart is fixing this. Combined with the bug from the link, I have to restart my macbook almost every two day. I remember when mac was working flawlessly, people were restarting the machines once a year of maybe never after several years.

Anyone is running into same problems?

Hi there dragos_2p,

You could try seeing if this issue happens in both safe mode and a temporary new user. A new user doesn't have custom or changed settings, and can help determine possible next steps by isolating this further. Does the same issue happen in a new user as well? This article has more details about adding a user: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

As mentioned earlier, you can also test in safe mode. Safe mode only allows certain software to load, which can help isolate this further or even possibly resolve the issue. If needed, below shows how to get into safe mode, which is from this article: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

"How to use safe mode

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:

Apple silicon

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
  3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
  4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
  2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window."

Let us know how those steps go as it will help us determine possible next steps.

Take care!
