How to clear notification for iCloud full on my Mac?

My MacBook Pro Ventura 13.1 has a notification badge for the iCloud being full that won't go away. I've only used the free iCloud sub. ever.

So since the badge wouldn't go away I turned off iCloud on this Mac. This notification tag still won't go away.

I've rebooted, and everything. Still no way to clear that badge.

Any thoughts?

I will NOT pay for iCloud service at any level, nor have I ever.

I have usually dealt with this situation by clicking the notification, and doing nothing.

This is the first time the red badge won’t go away

Hi SergioQ,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If you're still signed in with the same Apple ID on your MacBook Pro, this might be expected if iCloud storage is low. You can use the following tips from Manage iCloud storage on Mac - Apple Support which can help you manage storage.

"View and manage iCloud storage

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar. If you don’t see your name, click Sign in with your Apple ID to enter your Apple ID or to create one.
  2. Click iCloud on the right, click Manage, then do any of the following:
    • Upgrade your storage: Click Add Storage or Change Storage Plan, then follow the onscreen instructions.

If you’re in a Family Sharing group and you use the same Apple ID to share family purchases, the upgrade is billed to the family organizer’s account. For information about sharing iCloud storage with family members, see the Apple Support article Share iCloud+ with your family

    • See how an app or feature is using storage: Select an app or feature on the left, then read the usage information on the right.
    • You can permanently remove all documents and data for an app. You can save copies of documents before removing them from iCloud.
    • Remove an iOS or iPadOS device backup: Click Backups on the left, select a device on the right whose backup you don’t need, then click Remove  (below the list of backups).

WARNING: If you delete the iCloud backup for your current iOS or iPadOS device, iCloud stops automatically backing up the device.

    • Turn off Siri and remove Siri-related data: Select Siri on the left, then click Disable and Delete.

3. Click Done."

All the best.

Hello SergioQ,

This alert is expected since you are over the allotted iCloud storage you choose to work with. The system is attempting to let you know about this to prevent possible data loss from being unable to backup. Your options are to clear up storage on your Mac, using the tips provided in our last message, so that it fits in your 5GB backup space or disable iCloud backups. Until then, that message will continue to be visible.

We hope that helps to clarify this situation further.

Thanks and take care.
